TEEES

- a guide to short sleeves

Cotton Factory: Ten Bucks Sale

Cotton Factory
Slogans, illustrations and comedy are some of the things you might find among the 98 tees on sale at the Cotton Factory for a mere US$10 a piece. As far as I am aware they print on heavyweight Jerzees stock, which seems to be quite alright.

Hands On: The System

Here is another hands-on review. I spilled coffee on this, so I had to give it a wash before reviewing and it washes nicely at least…

The System

This monster print is really awesome, and if you look at the pictures further down in the review, beneath the “read more” mark, you will see that the print blends into the shirt really gracefully. The print is also slightly desaturated giving it a more organic feel and look. Be sure to have a look into the detailed print on the lower torso of this monster too. It is really quite nice.

The monster design is printed onto a Gildan heavyweight tee. I am not tot familiar with this cut, but it is not as fitted and slim as Am. App. and not quite as heavyweight as the Hanes 6.1 oz’s. It does however seem to be well proportioned and it washes really well, with next to no colour spillage. It also has good double seams, reinforced in the shoulders and neckline. It is tubular in construction and has a nice ribbed neck.

The shirt sells for a mere $13. The System also sells some other designs and a couple of wonderful one-offs. More pictures after the jump…

Summer Sale: Crowded Teeth

Don’t miss out on this chance to get some awsome threads on the cheap as Crowded Teeth are having a summer sale to work up funds for their upcoming fall/winter collection.
Crowded Teeth
A good portion of their designs are now cut by 38%, retailing at a mere $15 a tee. The shirt base is American Apparel, and there are pieces out there for both guys and girls. Among my personal favorites are the various pattern prints. I actually ordered the Teru Teru Bozu hoodie even though it is only available in women’s large, hoping it will pass as a guy’s small. I hope it works out.

Lost In Translation: Uniqlo

Uniqlo
Here is another source out of the eastern regions of the world that is toatlly lost on me. The only things I gather is that there are a lot of nice pieces on the Uniqlo site for both ladies and gents, and that they are extremely modeartely priced at ¥990, which currently is about US$9. If anyone can make more out of this please leave a comment below.

Strict Style: Tea and Crumpets

Tea And Crumpets
Some may have noticed that I have a fancy for pattern prints. One of the nicest designs I have seen lately within this genre is the Houndstooth print by a small label called Tea and Crumpets. This design is only available for the ladies in limited quantities and it is printed on a Bella shirt.

There are nice picks for the gents out there, too, and one of my favs is the Hot Head tee and the bicycle print. The guys stuff is inked into apparel by Hanes (tagless) and Fruit of the Loom (50/50).

The products retail at $16 each, and shipping is free when ordering three or more items. There is no word on distances though, and I would guess that this is not applicable just anywhere.

On The Steps at Oddica

May 19th is a day to put down in your calendar. This is the official launch date of what looks to become a really cool new t-shirt store.
Oddica
Managed from an artist oriented perspective, new kids on the block Oddica are a few days away from launching their full fury onto the world. They do so with a t-shirt sale of course, and if you don’t skimp on the numbers, or wait too long you’ll be able to get Luciously illustrated designs printed on American Apparel using sweet water based inks for a dinkly ten bucks each. Every shirt is said to be accompanied by some handsome goodies as well. I can’t wait to see what these guys have in store for us…
